Most couples book 6–9 months ahead, once the wedding date and budget are set — but the honeymoon budget and the wedding budget compete for the same dollars, so it helps to lock in travel costs early with Complete Getaways rather than see what’s left over afterward.
Either works. A trip right after the wedding lets you decompress immediately; a delayed “honeymoon-moon” a few weeks or months later avoids planning the trip while exhausted from wedding logistics and can even land better off-peak pricing.

Start immediately — routine passport renewal currently runs 4–6 weeks plus mailing time, and expedited service is 2–3 weeks plus mailing (about $60 extra). Given wedding-week stress, get this done as early as possible so it’s never a last-minute scramble.
